Domtar Improves CDP Scores in First Integrated Disclosure

Domtar’s CDP scores reflect our first disclosure as an integrated company for climate change, water security and forests. In 2025, we built on the practices of our legacy organizations to submit one unified CDP disclosure, and we’re proud to share our CDP scores improved in every category.

“Our participation is voluntary, but many customers expect CDP reporting,” says Arianne LaBoissonniere, manager, ESG* risk management & disclosure at Domtar. “CDP is a credible and globally accepted third-party platform that measures our sustainability performance and actions.”

Many teammates contributed to the process, including our environment, forestry, procurement and sustainability teams.

“At Domtar, we value our CDP disclosure because it demonstrates the level of rigor, care and intention behind our approach to environmental management,” says LaBoissonniere. “From climate action to forest management to water stewardship, our partners, stakeholders and other interested parties can see exactly how we govern these issues, how we assess risks and opportunities, and how our measured actions support continuous improvement.”

This is a strong starting point for Domtar, especially in our first-year reporting across all categories. We’re encouraged by these results with improvements in every area and are looking ahead to where we can turn our 2030 sustainability strategy into clear actions that support our continued sustainability performance.

Why are CDP scores important to a company like Domtar?

Submitting a CDP disclosure helps us track progress and share transparent updates with our customers, suppliers and stakeholders. Here’s why it matters:

  • Customers: Many customers require CDP disclosure as part of procurement. Scores help them assess supplier sustainability performance and risk.
  • Suppliers: Our suppliers often look for alignment on sustainability standards. CDP reporting demonstrates transparency and shared commitments.
  • Non-governmental organizations and industry partners: CDP scores are often used for benchmarking, reinforcing our accountability and adherence to global standards.

What is CDP?

CDP is a globally recognized, non-profit framework that champions environmental disclosure as standard business practice. As a third party, CDP scores companies annually on their environmental transparency and actions across four core areas: climate change, forests, water security and the new area of commodities management. CDP scores are public to encourage transparency.

Domtar’s sustainability strategy commits us to ethical leadership and internationally recognized reporting standards.

* ESG refers to environmental, social and governance criteria, a framework used to assess an organization’s environmental impact, social responsibility and governance practices, including risk management, ethics and transparency.

** In October 2024, Domtar, Paper Excellence (PE), and Resolute Forest Products unified under the Domtar name. Previously, legacy Domtar and Resolute disclosed CDP information through separate annual submissions, while PE reported through other sustainability reporting channels. This marked 2025 as the first year Domtar submitted a single, integrated CDP disclosure.
