Domtar Kingsport welcomed members of Women in Manufacturing (WiM) Tennessee in June for a behind-the-scenes tour of the mill and an opportunity to connect with team members.
The tour provided an opportunity to learn more about the facility’s journey, explore its innovative manufacturing processes and see how recycled materials are transformed into new packaging products. The tour also highlighted the importance of sustainability, teamwork and innovation.
Following the tour, the WiM team joined Domtar for a panel featuring several of the mill’s female employees — whose combined manufacturing experience totals more than 50 years. Their stories of resilience, leadership and career growth sparked meaningful conversations about the future of the industry and the importance of representation at every level.
This event provided valuable learning experiences, strengthened industry connections and showcased the exciting manufacturing opportunities available in Tennessee.

Domtar volunteers included Kingsport Mill Manager Tony Clary — who provided an overview of the mill to the WiM team; Environmental Manager Bonnie Depew; Associate Engineer Iris Fregoso; Training and Development Leader Tori Gilliam; and Training and Development Coordinator Jessica Thompson.
