FORT MILL, South Carolina – June 12, 2024 – Domtar Corporation, a Paper Excellence Group company, on Wednesday announced it has joined the U.S. Army’s PaYS (Partnership for Your Success) program — a strategic partnership between the Army and a cross section of corporations, companies and public sector agencies to provide soldiers an interview, and possible employment, after their service in the Army.

The PaYS program is designed to help military members obtain employment after service. If their skillset matches a job opening at one of Domtar’s U.S. locations, they’ll be guaranteed an interview. If chosen to advance, they would progress through the company’s normal hiring process.

“We’re excited to join the U.S. Army’s PaYS program,” said Eric Haggard, Paper Excellence Group director of diversity, equity and inclusion. “We recognize the unique skills and invaluable life experiences that veterans can bring. We’re eager to speak to them about possible employment at our manufacturing sites or corporate offices.”

Employees, veterans and Fort Mill Mayor Guynn Savage helped Domtar mark the occasion at a signing ceremony at its Fort Mill, South Carolina, headquarters. The event featured remarks by U.S. Army Lt. Col. Julian Milligan, Paper Excellence Group Paper & Packaging President Steve Henry, as well as a special recognition of employee veterans.

“The Army is not just going to war,” Milligan said. “We are investing in our sons and daughters while preparing for the future. We strive to set standards for strength, innovating and being resilient in building exceptional teams, ready to win in increasingly complex environments.”

“Having a direct connection to such a large and diverse talent base through the PaYS program is going to provide us with a pipeline of highly skilled candidates to help build our workforce,” Henry said. “More importantly, this partnership reinforces our ongoing commitment to supporting our military veterans and the communities where our employees live and work.
